CALPADS CCI Indicator Report

The CALPADS College/Career Indicator (CCI) Report provides a detailed view of how well students are prepared for postsecondary success based on California’s accountability framework. The report reflects student-level and aggregate outcomes aligned to the College/Career Indicator used in the California School Dashboard.

This report is designed to:

Measure the percentage of students who are prepared for college and/or career pathways
– Provide insight into student readiness prior to graduation
– Support district and site staff in monitoring progress toward College/Career Indicator outcomes
– Validate data submitted through CALPADS for accountability reporting

Data Sources

This report is derived from data submitted through CALPADS End-of-Year (EOY) submissions, including:

  • Course completion and transcript data
  • State assessment results (CAASPP Grade 11).
  • Career Technical Education (CTE) pathway completion.
  • College credit and Advanced Placement participation.
  • State Seal of Biliteracy and other recognized indicators.

The data reflects certified CALPADS submissions used for Dashboard calculations.

– Approaching Prepared – Student is on track but does not yet meet full criteria.
– Not Prepared – Student does not meet readiness criteria.

👉 The CCI measures how well schools prepare students for postsecondary success

College & Career Measures

Students may qualify through multiple pathways, including:

  • UC/CSU “A–G” completion.
  • Career Technical Education (CTE) pathway completion.
  • Advanced Placement (AP) or International Baccalaureate (IB).
  • College credit (dual enrollment).
  • CAASPP Grade 11 performance.
  • State Seal of Biliteracy.
  • Work-based learning or pre-apprenticeships.

👉 Students are only counted once, even if multiple measures are met

Districts and schools can use this report to:

Identify students on track vs. not on track for college/career readiness, Monitor progress toward Dashboard CCI performance levels, Evaluate effectiveness of:
– A–G completion efforts
– CTE programs
– Dual enrollment opportunities
– Support counseling and intervention planning for high school students

Important Considerations
Data is based on certified CALPADS submissions and cannot be modified after submission deadlines. CCI status is determined using a combination of multiple measures, not a single indicator.Timing of data submissions (courses, assessments, program participation) directly impacts results. Some measures require multiple components to be considered “Prepared”
