California Update

August 11–18, 2026

Hello California partners,

Here’s what’s new in OnDataSuite California over the past week.

What’s new

  • Exclude non-reportable campuses. Districts can now mark schools that should stay out of district reporting (adult education campuses and others) in Administration.
  • IB Exams for California are now available.
  • Commission on Teacher Credentialing (CTCC) file upload. You can now drop the weekly credential and Statewide Educator Identifier (SEID) file from your county office into File Center.
  • Golden State Pathways Program (GSPP) Baseline Data Collection Worksheet. This gives districts a centralized view of the student outcome measures commonly required for GSPP reporting, planning, and program evaluation.
  • Widget colors. You can pick hex colors and set colors on individual legends.
  • The SIS API button now says Aeries API.
  • File Center imports for HR 2.0 and Frontline. HR 2.0 brings in district staff data, including certifications for classified staff. Frontline brings in staff absences.
  • An Aeries API data pull log is now in the footer.
  • Clearer messaging when CALPADS files are missing, for CAASPP/SBAC, Staff, and Discipline/Suspension widgets.
  • California Assessment of Student Performance and Progress (CAASPP) Differential Report labeling is clearer, including Proficient and Proficient+.

New widgets

Four new dashboard widgets are ready to add this week. Drop them on a dashboard and start exploring.

  • English Language Proficiency Assessments for California (ELPAC) by School. School-level ELPAC results, in the same layout as NWEA Achievement by School.
  • Smarter Balanced (SBAC) by School. School-level Smarter Balanced results, same layout, so you can compare schools at a glance.
  • NWEA Achievement by Benchmark. See Fall, Winter, Spring, and Summer side by side in one widget, instead of lumped into a single view.
  • Suspension Incidents by Time. Look at suspension counts by day, week, month, or year, with a date range you choose.

Pre-release reports

Four new reports are in pre-release, and we’d love your eyes on them. Search for the report name in OnDataSuite, then tell us what you think.

  • Chronic Absenteeism Summary (Aeries)
  • First 10 Days Enrollment & Attendance
  • Dynamic Indicators of Basic Early Literacy Skills (DIBELS) Screening Report
  • Valedictorian Candidates

See you in California

OnDataSuite will be on site at these upcoming California events. Come say hello if you will be there.

  • San Joaquin County Office of Education (SJCOE) Aeries User Group Meeting. Thursday, September 3, Teachers College of San Joaquin, Stockton.
  • California Association of School Business Officials (CASBO) Central Section. Friday, September 25, Wyndham Visalia.

Aeries integration

Many California districts connect OnDataSuite through Aeries, and that connection is solid. We have a strong relationship with Aeries, and we appreciate their commitment to letting districts share data with other solutions.

Some parts of the Aeries application programming interface (API) still take extra handling on our side. For example, some data has to be requested one student at a time, while other data comes in very large groups. We have built processes around that so district data still loads accurately and reliably.

As more districts use the integration, we have found places where API changes could make the exchange faster. We are sharing what we have learned with Aeries and working together to keep improving it for the districts we both serve.

Please reach out if you have questions.

Thank you,
OnDataSuite California Team
